Louis Vuitton Date Code

While selling my LV bag online, I happened to know from my buyer that authentic Louis Vuitton bags has a date code stamped either on its interior tag or on the lining. It indicates the place and date of its manufacturing.

This is my antique alma bag which was bought years ago.

I found the date code in the inner pocket which was quite difficult to reach. You really have to search thoroughly otherwise you might just miss it.

From my understanding, Date code consists of 6 alpha-numberic digits whereby

• 1&2 digits represent the country where it was manufactured
• List of LV country codes
• France: A0, A1, A2, AA, AAS (special order), AN, AR, AS, BA, BJ, BU, DU, CO, CT, ET, FL, LW, MB, MI, NO, RA, RI, SD, SL, SN, SP, SR, TH, TR, VI, VX
• USA: FC, FH, LA, OS, SD, FL
• Spain: CA, LO, LB, LM, LW
• Italy: BC, BO, CE, FO, MA, RC, RE, SA, TD
• Germany: LP
• Switzerland: DI, FA
• 3&5 digits represent the week or month depending on when it was manufactured
• 1990s it's showing month 
• 2007-present it's showing  week  
• 5&6 digits represent the year it was manufactured

In my case, my Alma bag has a date code of FL0093 which means it was manufactured in USA and a manufacturing date of month 09 in 2003.

Although this is not a proof of its authenticity but if we are buying second hand LV bag, at least it served as an extra check.

Gucci Sunshade

Recently bought a Gucci sunshade from Eyechamp.  They were having CNY promotion and got this pair of sunshade at S$250.  Initially I wanted to have something that is slim at the side but after trying so many pairs of sunglasses, this is the one that suits me best.

Prada Gaufre Nappa Leather Tote

Finally i've got my 1st Prada bag.  It is the Gaufre Nappa in Lamb Skin.  SIL got this from me from Paris.  It was selling S$4,610 in SG boutique but I got this at Eur 1,670 in Paris.  This is about S$3,055 in S$ and with a 10% VAT rebate, it should be around $2,700.  It was cheaper by around $2,000! It was really a good buy.

Omega watch

My most expensive watch is from Omega.

D got it for me in year 2000 and paid almost S$2,000.

It is a boy size and with mother of pearl face.

I've sent it for repair once in 2007 and it is still working very well now.

My first LV bag

My colleague helped me to buy this LV Alma from Paris in 2003 @ S$920

This is my first branded bag.

But it is too heavy and not able to carry on shoulder. 

So it sits in my wardrobe for years now.  Thinking if I should sell it away.

Prada

SIL N is going to Paris for her honeymoon in September.

She asked me if I want to get any branded bags there.

Went to LV boutique but nothing caught my eyes.

The other day, I saw a colleague carrying a Prada bag which made me drool.

Checked up the internet and the bag cost 1595 Eur which translates to S$2,871.
Wow! That's too expensive!

Still thinking if I should get it...

Tiffany Charmed Bracelet

On the same day, I've also got a Tiffany & Co charmed bracelet.

Cost me S$365 for just the bracelet without charms.

Charms sold separately.

Intend to ask D to buy the charms for me since my birthday is coming.

Longchamp Le Pliage

Recently, I've bought a LongChamp Le Pliage in Praline.

Bought it from Takashimaya @ S$273

It's a long handle in large size.

It's roomy and lightweight.  It's also foldable and waterproof.

It's good for short trip.  It's also good when you have lots to carry with kids around.

Edit: After receiving question from my reader, I wanted to add this to the post.  The interior of the bag is light coffee in color.

Tiffany & Co Mesh Ring

I've bought the famous Tiffany & co mesh ring as well.

Coach Wristlet and Mini Skinny

Bought both of this from internet spree.

Cost around S$200 for both.

Agnes B Cosmetic Pouch

Got this Agnes B cosmetic pouch from the internet spree.

I paid S$38.90 for it.

But I wonder if it is genuine since I can't find this design in the boutique.

Gucci Messenger Bag

Got the Gucci messenger bag @ DFS with the help of colleague as she was able to get it at a good rate.

I've got it at S$675 after discount. 

LV Bags

Went to DFS and bought both of this on the same day.

Batignolles Vertical @ S$1,320 and Poche Toilette 19 @ S$375.

Gucci Eclipse Tote in Pink

My colleague got this for me during the DFS private sale.

It was cheap after discount.  Only paid S$320. Original price was S$1,120.

However, it seemed too small for me.

I sold it @ S$300 after a few months as I was quite conscious about the Pink color which was off season.
